This presentation will focus on what goes into a clinical protocol, what does not, and how PIs can avoid common mistakes in writing a protocol. The information contained in a well-written Clinical Protocol inform also the CONSORT guidelines--evidence-based guidelines for reporting clinical trials to medical journals. We'll touch on both what the information collected in a clinical trial and how CONSORT informs transparent trial reporting that aid in their interpretation and appraisal.
