A quick trip around Norwich mid-day yesterday was quite productive. The biggest surprise was an adult Red-shouldered Hawk on Bragg Hill Rd. It was about a mile up the road, just past Goddard Rd. Photo: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S22678632
Open water is still scarce along the river, but the Horned Grebe put on quite the show at Kendal Station. At times it was with a few meters of the road!

With the dramatic shift in the weather, Robins appeared to be high tailing it back south. At least 250 seen, including 168 moving south-southwest over the Ledyard Bridge area in just 25 minutes of counting around noon.
American Woodcocks (2) were back on Bragg Hill last night, though no luck finding the Rough-legged Hawk on Stevens Rd.
