Yesterday afternoon, a Great-horned Owl was sitting in the eagle's nest at the North Springfield Reservoir. Or, at least I thought it was an eagle's nest! This is in the big, marked, white pine in the old cemetery on the west side of the Black River (accessed via Maple St in Perkinsville). It was well hidden when approached from the parking area, walking south, but on my way back, looking to the north, I saw its entire head. Apparently this is not a new location for GHOW, but it seems that there has not been one present there for a couple of years.
