This morning under relatively mild conditions, 16 participants enjoyed
a fine time afield in a walk cosponsored by the Mascoma Chapter of New
Hampshire Audubon and Windsor County 2015 Birding Quest.

At Lyman Park in White River Junction, VT, highlights were 70 Mallards
and a Ring-billed Gull. Southward, along Connecticut River Road in
Hartford, highlights included 3 Common Goldeneyes, Hooded Mergansers,
6 Bald Eagles, 3 Red-tailed Hawks, a Pileated Woodpecker heard
calling, a Northern Mockingbird, a White-throated Sparrow, 2 male Red-
winged Blackbirds, and Pine Siskins.

Special thanks to Blake Allison and Chris Rimmer for keeping more
complete records which are to appear on eBird.

After the regularly scheduled morning walk, a number of participants
went northward in mid day to Stevens Road, where we were fortunate to
see repeatedly, in both Norwich and Thetford, the dramatically marked,
light phase Rough-legged Hawk.
