Nice to read of folks appreciating the blue jays as opposed to berating their feeding habits. I met an older couple in Leb Feed who without prodding, offered up their actions of killing them with a gun so the "real" birds could eat @ their feeders. I actually had a pleasant chat with them, enough so that I was able to tell them about the fines of the federal migratory bird treaty with out being assaulted; verbally or physically. It was an exercise in patience, and perhaps manipulation to get to my point. I doubt the conversation made a difference for the majestic blue jay, so I put out more cracked corn for them in simpatico. What would you have done?
