I have witnessed a hawk perch in a nearby tree and then swoop through my
yard here in Strafford this winter, quite low and quiet....birds cleared
out from feeders except a couple of intrepid chickadees. Not sure which
kind of hawk, quite large, and here and gone in seconds. Couldn't get a
really good look at markings, but saw mottled brown-ish and white.
