OK it wasn't in the field but in a classroom at VINS. The healthy kestrel was given to VINS for training due to early imprinting with humans. It remains friendly to humans so has become a long term resident. It swoops from handler to handler and snatches pieces of meat. It has a beautiful male coat and chirps when it wants attention.Visitors can get a view from a few feet away. Wild? No. Beautiful and charming raptor? Yes.
