Lila: The geese are regulars on Runnemede in large numbers every year around Columbus Day. The best thing is to get there early when the fog is full and you can hear, but not see the geese, and then stay until the fog lifts and the geese begin to appear and connect with their sounds. Michael.

Subject: [UVB] Canada Geese at Runnemede

Wow, there were literally hundreds of Canada Geese on lake Runnemede late this afternoon.. I counter 100, but there were 2 to 3x that number just in one small area of the lake.. i just peeked over from the meadow to see the geese that had been making so much noise, didn't even walk around farther to see how many more there were. I'm not a regular there, so maybe this is just typical numbers this time of year (?).
Soooo many sparrows around the meadow! Only ones I got a look at were Song (lots and lots), 1 Swamp, and 1 Savannah.
