Monday, July 21st, 6-7pm: Dartmouth Film Society Meeting (Wilson 205) The Dartmouth Film Society is a student organization that meets once a week to discuss the films playing at the Hopkins Center, debate important issues (like whether Ghostbusters is the best film of all time), write program notes, critique new movie trailers and vote on series proposals for future terms. You don’t have to be an expert - you just have to have an opinion!

Sat July 26th, All-Day Event, 10am-7pm: Digital Day 2014: The Directors Guild of America will hold its annual Digital Day event entitled, Eye on the Future. The event will emphasize cutting edge technology in the film industry, and include panels as well as hands-on demos in the DGA Lobby. In order to attend the event you must register using the attached flyer. The event will be located at the DGA and for the full day, including Continental Breakfast and Lunch, the cost is $35 per person.

This week it will be open Monday 3-5:30pm and 6:30-8:30pm, Tuesday 4-5:30pm, Wednesday 3-5:30pm and 6:30-8:30pm, and Thursday 4-5:30pm. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops. In the Digital Lab you can learn about working with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and other photo/video editing software. 1. Game Studies Research Assistant for Fall/Summer 2014:  Tiltfactor (http://www.tiltfactor.org) at Dartmouth College is looking for someone to help us conduct off-site studies and facilitate local programs. Work with our lab and our students in fun settings! An interest in games is helpful, but not required. What is required is an enthusiastic personality, a curious mind, good communication skills, and reliable habits we can count on. Will need to provide own transportation for off-site visits and have a flexible time schedule. 2. Artist/Illustrator Position for Fall/Summer 2014: Looking for student with drawing/illustration experience to work on various projects at Tiltfactor Lab including original game illustrations (figures, objects). 3. Research Coordinator Fellowship for the Film and Media Studies Department for Summer 2014: Looking for undergraduate student for unique and intense summer experience: Student will generate and organize research studies with local institutions, corporations, schools, and student groups. Must be outgoing, energetic, motivated, and able to work independently. Responsibilities will involve contacting organizations by phone and email to create research study opportunities for the lab, as well as coordination of the studies with the research team. 4. Digital Production Student Assistant for Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer/Interim: Responsible for scanning material for digitization and performing quality assurance reviews. Computer and technical ability with knowledge of digitization process desired. Must have strong attention to detail. 10-25 hours per week, morning weekday hours preferred.  Pay is set at a minimum of $8.75 per hour and a maximum based on experience.
