The semi-annual Mascoma Chapter outing to Bedell Bridge State Park in Haverhill brought out nine birders under cloudy and damp conditions that occasionally had some small and welcomed breaks of sun. Thirty-eight species were counted. The highlights a singing, adult, male orchard oriole and a red-bellied woodpecker which, curiously was the only woodpecker species recorded for the day. Also of note was the large number, seven, of warbling vireos seen. Thanks to George Clark for co-leading with Blake Allison who kept the tally
