Here's my brief collection of photos from today- Redheaded WP, Dowitchers and the Wheatear. In addition, I had a close and delightful encounter with a Pileated Woodpecker, so intent on excavating a fallen log at Pompy, that he ignored me. I had to stand away from him with my long lens to get him in the frame at all! (That was a few days ago, I think.)

Such an enjoyable day today, made possible by the wonderful, generous sharing amongst the experts in our area who were willing to share their sightings and give us all the opportunity to see these rarities. I, for one, would never have known about them in my own travels had I not read the uvbirders "alarm calls". Thanks to all-such a wonderful bunch!
