*Mon May 12, 6-7pm: **Dartmouth Film Society Meeting *(Wilson 205) The
Dartmouth Film Society is a student organization that meets once a week to
discuss the films playing at the Hopkins Center, debate important issues
(like whether *Ghostbusters *is the best film of all time), write program
notes, critique new movie trailers and vote on series proposals for future
terms. You don’t have to be an expert - you just have to have an opinion!

*Mon May 12, 7-8pm: Music Video Monday* (Digital Lab, Black Family Visual
Arts Center) Teams will compete to guess what the music video for a song
would (should?) be. Bring a team of friends! Pizza included.

*Tues May 13, 1-2pm: Website Creation Tools Workshop *(Digital Lab, Black
Family Visual Arts Center) We'll be doing an overview of website creation
from simple platforms like Wordpress to HTML hard-coding. This would be a
great place to start if you're thinking of making your own website.

*Thurs May 15, 4-5:30pm: Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro Workshop *(Digital
Lab, Black Family Visual Arts Center) Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing
program that is very similar to Final Cut Pro, and we'll be going over the
basics of importing and editing video using Premiere. (There is also a Part
2 Premiere workshop next Tuesday).

1. *Culminating Experience Proposals for 14X and 14F: *If you plan to do
your culminating experience during Summer 2014 or Fall 2014, the deadline
for submitting your proposal is *May 15th*. Students must have completed
FS40 before submitting their proposal.

2. *Shredder Film Festival Seeking Submissions: *SFF is dedicated to
showcasing budding talent, in particular, student-made films. Based in
Vermont, the Shredder Film Festival was created to provide a showcase
for student films and to raise some awareness about the talent hiding
behind this 'student staple'. All submissions must be provided in one of
two forms: DVD (mailed to address below) or secure online screener (Vimeo,
Youtube, etc.) All forms should be labeled with: Director's Name, Title Of

3. *GRID Internship at the Sackler Center for Feminist Art: *Partnering
with the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at The Brooklyn
Museum and the Department of Art History at Dartmouth College, The Gender
Research Institute at Dartmouth (GRID) offers students interested in gender
and the fine arts a unique and exclusive one-term study-research-internship
opportunity at one of the country's largest art museums and premier art
institutions in the world in *Fall 2014*. This internship is open to all
students interested in working closely at the intersection of gender and
the fine arts whether as artists and practitioners, historians, social
activists, or as curators. The internship will seek applications from
students in Women's and Gender Studies, Art History, Film and Media
Studies, Studio Art, or from related disciplines. Date of internship: Sept
15, 2014-Nov 26, 2014 (approximately 30 hours per week, schedule to be
determined once appointed). Award: $4,000. Interested students should send
a detailed letter of intent outlining their interest and rationale for
applying to the internship and address their previous and/or future work in
gender and the arts (courses, thesis, projects, etc.). Students should also

4. *Artifice Online Magazine Seeking Submissions: *The Artifice is an
online magazine that covers a wide spectrum of art forms (Movies, TV, Arts,
Anime, Comics, Games, Literature or other art forms). The Artifice is
collaboratively built and maintained by fellow writers. It is structured to
let you focus on the quality of the content while it deals with the
exposure of it to an audience of millions. The Artifice does not work quite
the same as other publishing platforms. For example, the first question you
may ask is “What are you looking for?” At The Artifice, your fellow writers
ask you instead: “What are you an expert on? What are you passionate
about?” You can write about a whole host of things for pleasure, passion

5. *Film Editor Needed:* Sound person/Editor needed for a 4-5 minute
documentary that will be shown at the Spark Community Center Grand Opening
on June 21, 2014. This project includes filming an interview and editing
stills film footage and music into a short film. You will be paid $100.

6. *NESN Seeking Participants in Student Film Contest: *The New England
Sports Network is developing a new television series that offers New
England film students the chance at cash, prizes, exposure, and bragging
rights. The NESN Filmmaking Contest involves teams of undergraduate student
filmmakers producing short, sports-themed documentary films in the Fall of
2014. These films will air on NESN and will be judged by industry
professionals throughout the competition. The winning filmmakers will win
$20,000 cash! NESN is looking for any students that are interested in this

7. *Four Seasons Sotheby's Realty Seeking Videographer: *Four Seasons
Sotheby's Realty, which has an office in Hanover, is looking to produce a
video highlighting its agents, offices, and the surrounding living area. If

8. *Physics Professor Seeking Videographer: *Interested in the environment?
Photography? Alaska? Prof. Tim Smith is working on a documentary *Hydrokinetic
Power for a Remote Alaskan Community. *He is looking for a student to go *this
July* to Igiugig, a remote village in Alaska, and document the installation
of a turbine in it's river. Central to the project is recording the
reaction of the local population to this turbine. The ideal candidate has
in interest in several of the following: videography, energy & environment
and remote communities. The candidate may be working independently for

9. *Dartmouth Television Seeking Cinematographers and Writers: *Dartmouth
Television is looking for Camera Operators/Cinematographers and Comedy
Writers for its current project, "Dartmouth Tonight", a live,
professionally shot television show taped in the Dartmouth 105 theatre
several times per term. The project is a hybrid of the late night talk show
format, and has been described by attendees as "The Jimmy Fallon Experience

10. *Stories Growing Films Seeking Scripts: *Stories Growing Films,
Dartmouth's only student-run film group on campus, is looking for movie
scripts. The group is looking for 8-15 page shorts - either narrative
scripts or documentary proposals. SGF develops, directs, and produces one
film every term. After production, the group sends them to film festivals.
The deadline is *May 12th at 11:59 PM*. Scripts must be sent in PDF format

the feasibility of shooting the script in/around Hanover. Refer to the

11. *Finance Office Seeking Videographer: *The Professional Development
Committee in Finance & Administration is creating a short video about the

12. Ever wanted to visit Austin, TX? Want to have a blast this summer?
Would you like a credit on a feature film before you graduate? *Alex
Stockton '15 is searching for cast and crew for a feature film entitled
Illegal Invisible Ignited to be shot in Austin, TX this summer.* Everyone
will be fed and have a place to live. And you can bet it'll be the best
summer you've ever had. The film's synopsis: Illegal Invisible Ignited
tells the story of Franky DeLuna, a Hispanic who dreams of being an
inventor but that was brought to the United States illegally when he was a
little boy. He struggles to find his place in a country that requires him
to not exist and is deported when he contacts the police in order to
prevent a rape. As he tries to make a new home in Mexico, Franky discovers
the corruption of the cartels and must decide whether it is better to live
in a country where his life is in danger or a country that doesn't want
him. Think *12 Years a Slave* mixed with *The Pursuit of Happyness* but told
through the salient issue of illegal immigration. If you are interested,

13. *Seeking Wedding Videographer: *My name is Megan Bourbeau. My fiancé
and I are getting married in *late September this year* in southern New
Hampshire and we are looking for a videographer for our wedding. We are
looking for upperclassmen with experience in video, video editing, and
working an important event for 7+ hours. It is important that they have their
own equipment for that day, understand the time table of a wedding, and are
able to edit the footage into a valuable keepsake for us. Interested
