I should qualify my report of Warbling Vireo song at Chaffee Sanctuary yesterday.  I heard but did not actually view the bird.

The "Purple Finch" we were enjoying sounded odd so my companion consulted her IPOD.  We listened to Purple, Gold and House Finches - none of which sounded quite like what we'd been hearing.  The Guide mentioned Warbling Vireo as a similar song and that seemed much closer.  But, by then, the bird had stopped singing - which is quite
un-vireolike, isn't it?

Thanks to George Clark for pointing out that it's probably early for Warbling Vireo.
It was too easy to jump to a conclusion since I had positively ID'd a WV at Chaffee last spring.  But that wasn't 'til May 7th.
