One of my favorite spots; quiet, easy walking (on RR tracks), looks down on the water, and quite scenic.

Tons of water this time of year as this is where the Waits River enters the CT river.  I walk toward the RR bridge, south and a ways north. Lots if fine farm land nearby.

Highlights:

FOY:  Swamp Sparrows (2), 1 Belted Kingfisher

Great looks at about 10 Wood Ducks, one male even walked around on some ice island. Trophy bird.

12 Canada Geese, 6 Com. Mergs.

1 Y-s Flicker, 1 Y-b  Sapsucker

3 Tree Swallows

Blackbirds (no RuBl). Many song sparrows.

House Finches.

Lake Morey:  guys ice fishing out on the ice.  one small puddle at north end w/ 6 Co. Mergs. Also 4 at south end.

8-)
