Film Events This Week:

Mon Mar 31, 6pm: Dartmouth Film Society Meeting (Wilson 205) The Dartmouth Film Society is a student organization that meets once a week to discuss the films playing at the Hopkins Center, debate important issues (like whether Ghostbusters is the best film of all time), write program notes, critique new movie trailers and vote on series proposals for future terms. You don’t have to be an expert—you just have to have an opinion!

Mon Mar 31, 7pm: Cine Salon (Lost Films Found): Fragments and Reminiscences of Discovery in the Early Films of Joseph Cornell (Mayer Room, Howe Library) This slide lecture by Bruce Posner will focus on the type of films available to art collage filmmaker Joseph Cornell during his movie-going adolescence and young adulthood. The period under review coincides with the birth of the nickelodeon in 1905 and the spread of grand movie palaces during the 1920s and 30s.

Mon Mar 31, 7-8pm: Music Video Monday (Digital Lab, Black Family Visual Arts Center) Teams will compete to guess what the music video for a song would (should?) be. Bring a team of friends! Pizza included.

Tues Apr 1, 1-2pm: Intro to InDesign Workshop (Digital Lab, Black Family Visual Arts Center) Learn how to use InDesign to make posters and books with text, graphics, and everything else. Space is limited, so email [log in to unmask] to sign up.
