I enjoyed watching 9 seagulls this afternoon at Lake Runnemede in Windsor. They landed on the melting lake surface, which resembled shining tidal flats. They drank a lot from the shallow pools and rested. The sun was very warm. Eventually a Golden Retriever passed along the dike and stared out at them with interest, so they rose up and moved to the quieter western side.
