My daughter, who is living in Wilder, called about a week ago to say that her dog ran across the street and killed an Opposum in the neighbor's yard, then brought it back to her house.  She didn't know who she should call to report a dead Possum, wondering that her dog had killed it because she "barely touched it".  We bought thought of the expression, Playing Possum, and when she went back out to check on the body, it was gone!  Maybe they are just moving into the area?

As I write this at 5:00 PM Friday, the 17th, an opossom is sniffing around at the bottom of the pole that holds my sunflower feeder.  I live in residential Hanover two blocks from the College gymnasium!

We have deer in our yard every night but this is a first!
