Virtual servers take advantage of the large amount of processing power on a single machine by creating separate Operating Systems for a variety of different tasks or applications.  To the best of my knowledge, the key to implementing virtual servers is to insure that they are set up (CPU, RAM, hard drive) and dedicated appropriately based on the requirements of the application(s) or tasks to be run.  There are hundreds of Sony Virtuoso™ Systems installed which access, retrieve and store content from virtual servers on a regular basis.  SANS and our highly skilled resellers are available to assist our customers’ IT staff with best practices and system requirements for using our language lab software.  If you need more detailed information please contact me directly at [log in to unmask].

Looking for information about dedicated servers vs. virtual servers. I am a high school department chair and am dealing with virtual servers for our Sony language labs. I am of the opinion that the diffuculties we experience with the technology stems from our virtual servers and that if we installed a dedicated server, our technology would work much better. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Thanks in advance,
