Greetings counters & friends,
We hope everyone had a great Turkey-day with family and friends. The annual Hanover-Norwich Christmas Bird Count is continuing our New Year's Day tradition, counting this year on Wednesday, 1 January. As usual, we will meet at 7:00 AM in front of Hopkins Center for route assignments and gather at Everything But Anchovies after dark to warm up and count down.
Please let us or Dan Crook ([log in to unmask]; 603-448-2544) know if you can help out this year. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again (if briefly) and reacquainting ourselves with all of those Black-capped Chickadees in our territory. This far ahead, it's hard to tell what other birds will await us, although finches don't seem inclined to join the party this year. Our circle is not exactly prime habitat for Snowy Owls, but we should keep the current irruption in mind as we are out in the field!
