This afternoon, a small flock of ten nighthawks was observed as it darted, dove and swooped chasing insects over the fields along NH Rt. 10 behind the "Old Cemetery."
Around 11:00 a.m. today, the Post Pond loon family was seen feeding on the Rt. 10 side of the water near Loch Lyme Lodge. Sadly, only one of the year's two young is still with us, the other presumably lost to a bald eagle in July according to one of the pond's abutters.
