Out on the Ompompanoosuc today canoeing up stream, away from CT River from the Rt. 5 put in, we spotted a male Wood duck, male Hooded Merganser, a bunch of Mallards, and Canada geese.  To top off a great day we also came across a Wood Turtle basking on a rock, and a Mink hopping along an ice shelf right near rt 93.
