The pace of activity is picking up. Yesterday (03/29), three crows chased a red-tailed hawk out of a tree near the house. Also seen yesterday, a FOY, but expected, brown creeper ascending a birch adjacent to the feeders. Elsewhere in Lyme, seven grackles - at that point the most of the season - were seen near the post office on the Common. Today, the 30th, 45 grackles were observed in trees along NH Rt. 10, 2/10s of a mile north of the common about 6:15 pm. During the same time frame, an American kestrel was seen perched on a wire in the same area. 95 Whipple Hill Rd. Lyme, NH 03768-3322 603-795-4167
