Subject: [UVB] Ice Fishing With Eagles

Today on Lake Morey, ice fishing with teacher Ginny Moore and her husband, Randy, a juvenile bald eagle was seen perched in a nearby pine. He remained motionless until Randy caught a large pickerel, and after throwing it out on the ice, the eagle swooped down, grasped the fish in his talons, and flew back up to the pine.
In a moment, an adult bald eagle flew in from the other side of the lake, chased the juvenile with the fish still in its talons, until he dropped it. Both eagles lost the catch, all witnessed by a dozen first graders and their parents.

Aesop would have something to say about this avian drama.
