This afternoon saw a hawk sitting on the Chaffee Sanctuary sign. Could not make a positive ID. On first look, it appeared to be a red-tailed except the breast was clear, no waist band, and the somewhat obstructed view I had of the tail showed no rust. The bottom of the tail had white edging. Looking at Sibley, the only match I get is young broad-winged. Seems late in the season for that, but we all know juvenile behavior of all orders in the animal kingdom are difficult to categorize.

Thoughts?
