This is a reminder that on Saturday September 29, 2012, the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon is holding a bird walk led by George Clark from 7:45 to 10:00 AM at the Bedell Bridge State Park in Haverhill, NH. This walk is free and open to the public. Bring binoculars and scopes if available. Participants should be prepared to walk up to two miles over uneven terrain. We'll be looking especially for raptors, sparrows, and other species found in the variety of riverine and agricultural habitats along the scenic Connecticut River in the environs of the historic Bedell Bridge. Road/Carpooling Instructions: From the Hanover/Lebanon area, follow Route 10 north to Haverhill, NH. Turn left onto Meadow Road and continue to the starting location at the end of the road by the Connecticut River at Bedell Bridge State Historic Site. Please note that the correct starting time for this bird walk is at 7:45 AM at the Bedell Bridge site. For participants from Hanover, Norwich, and surrounding towns, carpoolers are to meet at 7:00 AM in the commuter parking area adjacent to the Ledyard Bridge off River Road in Norwich.
