The Mascoma Chapter of NH Audubon held its second, and final, Weds evening birdwalk at the Union Village Dam yesterday. A small group braved the warmth and bugs to identify 36 species, not bad for the time of day. The highlight was the singing and calling of Veerys seemingly everywhere - the 12 noted on the count list is probably conservative. Our final Friday walk of the season at the UV Dam will be tomorrow, 5/25, starting at 7am at the large parking area .5 miles in from the Buzzell Bridge entrance in Thetford Center.
