A stellar morning in beautiful metropolitan downtown Etna, while a bit of a quiet start, turned up 8-10 birders and ~40 species. Perhaps the most surprising bird was the Junco, which one might expect at a higher elevation. Thanks to the Hanover Conservancy and Gail McPeek for sponsoring Saturday's outing. > Great Blue Heron (flying overhead) > > Broad-winged Hawk > > Wild Turkey > > Mourning Dove > > Chimney Swift > > Ruby-throated Hummingbird > > Common Flicker > > Yellow-bellied Sapsucker > > Hairy Woodpecker > > Eastern Phoebe > > Tree Swallow > > Barn Swallow > > Blue Jay > > American Crow > > Black-capped Chickadee > > White-breasted Nuthatch > > Red-breasted Nuthatch > > Brown Creeper > > House Wren > Gray Catbird > > American Robin > > Eastern Bluebird > > European Starling > > Blue-headed Vireo > > Black-and-white Warbler > > Northern Parula > > Yellow-rumped Warbler > > Black-throated Green Warbler > > Ovenbird > > Common Yellowthroat > > Bobolink > > Red-winged Blackbird > > Baltimore Oriole > > Brown-headed Cowbird > > Northern Cardinal > > Rose-breasted Grosbeak > > Indigo Bunting > > American Goldfinch > > Dark-eyed Junco > > Song Sparrow > David Merker Etna, NH
