Upper Valley birders: two pieces of great news -- First, we have officially launched the Vermont Breeding Bird Atlas Website! www.vtecostudies.org/vbba/ The site includes species accounts with distribution maps and summary tables, an overall summary of Atlas findings for various species groups, plus an interpretive section on bird conservation in Vermont. The Atlas website will be a hallmark reference for anyone needing accessible information on the status of birds that breed in Vermont. Second, a full-color hard cover Atlas book is now in production with the University of New England Press, and is scheduled for release in early 2013. Complete with maps, data tables, full-text species accounts, gorgeous photos, and interpretive chapters, the publication will serve as a rich, attractive, and user-friendly resource for birders, natural resource managers, and the conservation-interested public. If you would like to receive an alert when the book comes out, please send an email to Roz Renfrew (not the listserv):[log in to unmask] -- Chris Rimmer Vermont Center for Ecostudies P.O.
