Went out to Lake Runnemede today with husband Wayne....we thought the UV birdquest was today! Had a great time anyway, though missed seeing everyone.
Highlights:
3 American Coots-great views
1 Pied-billed Grebe
4 Ringed-necked Ducks
1 Wood Duck (m)
3 Cackling Geese (see photos- pretty sure on i.d. and have been seen by others)
1 White throated Sparrow
1 Kingfisher
1 Common Loon (inmmature)
1 Swamp sparow
1 female Surf Scoter- or perhaps White winged, though no white on wings.
Several hundred Canada Geese
Flock Yellow-rumped warblers

Photos here of these birds:

Would be interested in opinions on i.d.

The Canadas all took off at one point, leaving just the three Cackling Geese. Then all the Canadas returned again. While they were gone, though, it was much easier to see the other ducks and geese.

At Wilder Dam, pretty quiet, but a gull flew over, large flock of Robins, a few Song Sparrows, and notably,
2 Common Goldeneyes.
