Noticing that the river had dropped significantly today, I headed up to Pompy Flats after work. There was a nice smattering of shorebirds there and at the mouth of the Ompompanoosuc (viewed from the RR tracks just south of the iron bridge). Totals at the 2 sites combined: Semipalmated Plover 13 Killdeer 4 Semipalmated Sandpiper 10 Least Sandpiper 10 Pectoral Sandpiper 1 If the water levels stay low overnight, and cloud cover remains low with precipitation, there could be some grounded migrants around tomorrow.
