At the end of slavery in the French Caribbean people had to be given an identity. Many strange family names were dreamt up by the functionaries entrusted with the job. Among the strange names are: Nirelep, Siobud and Noslen. They are fairly common.

Nirelep is Pelerin backwards, Siobud Dubois and Noslen Nelson.
