I've never seen a chickadee feed from a hummingbird feeder, but have seen this behavior in the spring when chickadees will feed on sap bleeding from maple trees.
I've also seen them hover while trying to snatch spider eggs or insects from challenging sites.

> I have two hummingbird feeders that are regularly visited by hummers and orioles alike. Yesterday, I had a strange visitor to the hummingbird feeder on three occasions, a black capped chickadee. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? It rapidly beat its wings to stay hovering as it dipped its beak into the red flower well, flew off, and then returned another two times.
