Re: Problems with PDF generation
I just totally wiped my HD, reinstalled X.6.6 and reinstalled all programs. I'll go back to X.6.7 when Apple fixes the problem but no before. Apple should have fixed this within days of the problem showing up.

It's interesting reading the thread John points to -- lots of Apple fanboys tring to say the problems are with the fonts and/or programs involved. I'm not convinced. As a user of Canvas X -- it is astonishing that it runs almost perfectly on OS X.6.x five years after development stopped on it. Clearly, most (probably all) of the "Canvas bugs" evident in previous years were not Canvas bugs at all but Apple's OS X bugs which were not corrected in previous OS X versions, but were finally fixed in X.6.x.

And now at X.6.7 we have a brand new bug! Clearly, it is Apple's bug and Apple should have publicly acknowledged it and thrown every engineer they had at it to fix it with all speed.

If this bug had appeared in Windows, the Apple fanboys would have been howling with glee.

Cheers, geoff

Hi again!
Sounds like you are running into the problem introduced by the 10.6.7 update. The problem is the fonts. The problem is well-known, but I can't recall a solution at this point, apart from downgrading to 10.6.6 or using different fonts.

So I was bitten by installing updates when proffered by Apple. Is there any relatively painless way to back off to 10.6.6 ??

Here's a work-around which replaces the ATS framework, and reportedly helps. If you don't like it, run the 10.6.7 updater to restore it to your current setup.

I have created a standard installation package to fix the Adobe font issue.

It replaces only the affected ATS.framework binaries with the 10.6.6 versions.
