The American Center for Mongolian Studies provides several funding and=20= study opportunities for students and scholars. This year we are=20 pleased to announce a new grant program for faculty research in=20 Mongolia, the ACMS Faculty Research Fellowship, and the continuation=20 of our other fellowship programs. Application deadlines are March 1,=20 2010 for all fellowship programs, and previous experience in Mongolia=20 is not required for any awards. ACMS Research Fellowship Program Funding support provided by the Henry Luce Foundation The ACMS Research Fellowship Program supports doctoral dissertation or=20= post-doctoral field research in Mongolia on topics in the Social=20 Sciences or Humanities. Fellowships support 6-12 month research=20 programs, and awards include travel expenses to and from Mongolia, an=20 accommodation and food allowance, and a stipend to cover research=20 expenses. Awards will be adjusted based on the length of time spent=20 conducting research in the region with a maximum award of $27,000 per = fellow. Research projects must be conducted on site in=20 Mongolia in summer or fall 2010. Awards of up to $3000 per fellow are=20 available. The fellowship offers up to=20= $2500 per faculty member to support field research and studies=20 conducted in Mongolia between May and October 2010. Research projects=20 in all fields of study will be considered. The program priority is to=20 support faculty from non-research intensive universities and colleges,=20= especially faculty who are helping guide student research projects or=20 who can show how the experience will enhance their teaching and=20 outreach. The funding is intended to serve as a catalyst and may be=20 used in conjunction with funds from other sources.
