Hello, At my thistle feeder today were 5 birds that I thought might be female goldfinches but I am not sure. They are olive green whith striping on their wings and some yellow on their neck area. I have seen them before during the summer with the yellow and black goldfinches and always thought they were females but the pics I am seeing online don't look the same as what I am seeing at the feeder. I tried to get a picture but as soon as they heard me open the window they flew away. I will try again if they come back with the window closed. If they are female goldfinches then where are the males? Had lots of activity at the feeders today. 2 mourning doves, 6 blue jays, a male and female hairy woodpecker, about 8 or more black-capped chickadees, the 5 mystery birds and a big fat gray squirrel. I heard a tufted titmouse but didn't see it. Any thoughts about these olive green birds would be welcome. Thank you Anne **************************************************************** To post messages, send e-mail to: [log in to unmask] Set your e-mail application to PLAIN TEXT ONLY to post messages.
