Echoing Doug Hardy's report of a significant warbler wave on Saturday, I had the following in a frustratingly short 20 minutes around my house in Norwich. I was constrained for time, so couldn't chase down and ID the majority of birds, which were moving very rapidly through the deciduous canopy. I probably ID'd only 20-25% of the birds present. Highlights: Location: 91 Spring Pond Road Observation date: 8/30/08 Number of species: 17 Eastern Wood-Pewee 4 Blue-headed Vireo 2 Red-eyed Vireo 5 House Wren 1 Yellow Warbler 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler 2 Magnolia Warbler 1 Black-throated Blue Warbler 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle) 1 Black-throated Green Warbler 3 Blackburnian Warbler 2 Pine Warbler 1 This report was generated automatically by eBird v2(http://ebird.org/vt) Yesterday afternoon, I had a great close-up views of 6 Red-eyed Vireos feeding on berries of an alternate-leaved dogwood at my house.
