Home is Thetford. This am produced a curious Chipping Sp or was that a Canada ? What I found was the rather emphatic song of a Tennessee Warbler (in our yard). Great looks. Also a quiet Bay-breasted Warbler. Yesterday (after birdathon) heard several times the singing of an Olive-sided Flycatcher at our house and a No. Saw-whet Owl last pm. (didn't get any of these on birdathon). Birdathon produced a long, fruitful day with 2 tired puppies (4am -9pm)(slept in car). 118 species.... highlights: Common Nighthawk (1) at Allen's Marsh Westminster Ruddy Turnstone (1)at Herrick's Least and semip sandpipers, Semi p Plover, and Lesser Yellowlegs at Herricks Wilson's, Blackpolls, Canada, Magnolia, No Waterth, warblers at Herricks Imm Bl-cr HightHeron at Ledyard Bridge. (maybe Fish Crow ?) Louisiana Waterthrush in Thetford Common Loons L Fairlee (and Morey) Ruddy Duck... L Morey, M not in breeding plummage. Merlins and Peregrines on golf course and cliffs in Fairlee. 4 singing male Woodcock at Post Mills Natural Area in the evening !
