Six of us braved the cold wet morning today for the Hanover Conservation Council bird walk. We were rewarded with views of spectacular numbers of warblers, plus other migrants. The warbler migration seems to be stalled. Large flocks of warblers were on the Dartmouth campus Friday, and they appear to have stayed the night. Our HCC group spent the entire time walking in circles on the Dartmouth campus, following the warblers around. We saw 31 species of birds, including 13 species of warblers. The numbers of warblers were spectacular, probably in the hundreds.
