Late yesterday morning (Fri.) at Dunkin Donuts on 12A saw my first A. Robin of the season. At home here in Enfield Center I had one in my yard at 12:45 in the afternoon.
Today an A. Robin was in my lilac bush at the end of my deck, looking over the feeders. ( It made it through the night.) It then flew to my big maple tree and swooped down toward the platform feeder there. It then flew to the old apple tree which still has some old apples on it. Noted it was pecking at one of the apples.
Wish I had some grubs to offer it. One of my books says they will sometimes come to feeders for bread crumbs.
 Anyone have other suggestions?
Birds very active. Purple Finch are back, both M & F.
My large flock of A G Finch are still coming as well as Juncos and Cardinals.
