Coordinator of Language Resource Center for Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Position available as early as April 1, 2006. Oversees all activities of LRC & its staff, manages & promotes LRC support of language curriculum, & provides faculty with training workshops & advice on integrating technology into instruction. With LRC staff, ensures reliable delivery of services & maintains computers, servers, audio & video machinery, & other equipment. Trains & supervises professional staff. Hires, trains & supervises student staff. Prepares budget requests. Consults with faculty on level & type of resources available to students & instructional staff. Prepares & conducts orientation sessions for new faculty & students & in-service workshops for faculty in use of instructional technology. Coordinate language placement exams for entering students. M.A. degree in a language related field with native or near-native fluency in at least one foreign language required. Experience teaching a foreign language a plus and experience working in a college/university language resource center required. Experience in developing instructional assets and materials, using databases, and supporting technology-enhanced instruction. Must be able to work well with students, faculty members, and technology.
