"Preservation Management of Machine Based Audiovisual Collections" Alan Lewis, Subject Area Expert--Audiovisual Preservation National Archives and Records Administration This one-day short course is a basic training session for librarians and archivists responsible for machine-based AV media including motion picture films, sound recordings, and videotapes. The focus is on the fundamental nature of the various media and the application of archival principles and procedures to them. The curriculum will cover concepts, terminology, media, technologies, problems, basic conservation and preservation methods, storage considerations, equipment needs, and more. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Library and Archive administrators and staff, oral historians, media librarians, stock footage collections staff, preservation managers, and anyone interested in learning more about these media.
