I've been all over the MS web site and it seems as if every description tells how to use the products but assumes you know which is what. I understand that the Global IME included Chinese and Korean as well as Japanese but surely there's more to it than that. I had already installed Global IME 5.x and it worked fairly well, except that it mysteriously quits working (after an unknown sequence of events) and gives me this error "Microsoft Global IME 5.0 for Japanese is unable to load the Japanese Language Pack." Why would it work for a while and then stop working? When I reinstall it, it works again and then one day I'll try it and will get that message. I've searched the MS Knowledgebase for this message to no avail. We recently acquired the MultiLanguage Pack and I've printed out the readme for Japanese IME 2000 but can't figure out if I should be using that instead. (We don't need Korean or Chinese capability). As leader of a small Language Center, I find I have to be "jack of all trades, master of none." Thus, I'm no expert in Japanese computing and don't have time to become one. I'm hopeful that someone in the LLTI world can come to my rescue as they have done many times before.
