Greetings,

We hope this message finds you well!

The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (ODEIB) is gearing up to welcome the 6th cohort of fellows for the 2024 Academy for Research, Clinical, and Health Equity Scholarship (ARCHES) Program, which will be held June 13, 2024 - July 27, 2024 in Washington, DC at Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM).

2024 ARCHES APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 20, 2024 at 11:59PM EST

ARCHES is a residential summer pre-health pathway program that is sponsored by the Dean for Medical Education at GUSOM. The opportunity offers six weeks of intensive research experience, clinical shadowing and community based learning activities that focus on health equity challenges that are prominent in the Washington DC area. Program fellows receive focused mentorship from research faculty and current medical students while engaging in professional development activities and career exposure seminars. Additionally, a $4,000 stipend is provided to each scholar for their participation in the program.

This program experience is ideally suited for students who are interested in pursuing medicine or other health professions careers. To be eligible for the program, applicants must be in their sophomore or junior year at a US accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA or 2.5 or higher. We consider all applicants regardless of race, sex, age, disability, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, socioeconomic background, and other protected categories. It is also important to note that ARCHES may be of particular interest to students who have experienced challenges accessing resources that are necessary for successfully navigating the health professions career trajectory.

As we invite all eligible students to apply, we kindly ask that you share this information with anyone you feel may be a good fit for this experience.
