One and a half years ago, Pulse was an unfinished website running only on a couple developers' computers. Today the tech supports close to 10,000 users across the ivy league and has been used to collect over one million survey answers, and its growth continues to accelerate. Pulse cofounder Robin Jayaswal and developer Jessie Anderson have led the engineering team in going from zero users to where they are today, and will be giving a talk at the DALI Lab about mechanisms they have used and lessons they have learned in this process. Topics will include maintaining correctness and quality in an expanding codebase, adding new engineers and managing a growing team, handling moderate data scale, and topics suggested by the audience.
