Title: "Cache Consistency at Facebook”
Summary:
This talk will tell the history of data-fetching at Facebook with a particular emphasis on the problem of how to maintain Cache Consistency. The infrastructure began with memcached and MySQL sitting in a single region and over time expanded to a multi-region solution where TAO (a graph cache) replaced memcached. The story will explain how Facebook’s Cache Consistency Model optimizes for availability while cleverly hiding Inconsistencies from users. The final model guarantees local read-after-write consistency, regional best-effort consistency and global eventual consistency."
