MALIK YAKINI - THE GOOD FOOD REVOLUTION: FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND EQUITY, 7:00PM, FILENE AUDITORIUM, MOORE HALL.

Malik Kenyatta Yakini is co-founder and the Executive Director of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network (DBCFSN).  DBCFSN operates a seven-acre urban farm and is spearheading the opening of a co-op grocery store in Detroit’s North End.  Yakini views the “good food revolution” as part of the larger movement for freedom, justice and equality. He has an intense interest in contributing to the development of an international food sovereignty movement that embraces Black communities in the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa.

Come check out our NEW PROGRAM, Sustainability Action Workshops (SAW)! SAW provide a crash course in design thinking, with participants work together to tackle a concrete sustainability issue on campus in a term.

Want to get off campus for a few hours? Come join us at the O-Farm! You can help out with some farm chores, or just sit by the river and study. Rides leaving behind Robo at 2:30pm.

Dartmouth Dining Services serves a dinner highlighting the best of local and regional foods and invites local farmers and food artisans to join in the celebration! Enjoy samples of local delicacies as well as a menu featuring local and seasonal delicacies.

Check out Dartmouth’s premier sustainability club! We’ll be discussing our initiatives for the fall term including a trip to the Listen thrift shop to discuss sustainable and reusable fashion!

HARFEST! 1PM-4PM, DARTMOUTH ORGANIC FARM

Come celebrate the fall harvest season at the O Farm with seasonal food, sweet cider, hard cider (for the 21+ crowd), live music, games, and more! Check out the fall foliage along the river and join the festivities! Rides will leave from behind Robo every half an hour.

 

NORWICH FARMERS MARKET, 9AM-1PM, ROUTE 5

The summer market are held on Saturdays from 9:00-1:00, May through October at our outdoor location on Route 5, 1.5 miles south of Norwich village. Come support local farmers, eat some delicious food and enjoy live music!
