La Unidad Latina is a multi-racial fraternity with a focus on programming and cultural initiatives
that center the issues of the Latinx population in the
United States and beyond.
Thirteen visionary men founded
La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated on February 19, 1982 at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Their Hermandad takes a role in meeting the needs of the Latino community through cultural awareness, community service, and the
promotion of Latino culture and its diverse peoples.
Those who undergo our New Membership Education are referred to as Caballeros. A Caballero signifies a gentlemen and/or knight in the Spanish language. As the title indicates, Caballeros are expected to conduct themselves with respect and chivalry at all times, especially upon receiving the privilege of becoming an Hermano de La Fraternidad.
All of our esteemed members carry this trait with them in all aspects of life, beyond the membership intake process.
