Dear Male members of the class of 2017,
Fraternity winter rush will be occurring this weekend on Friday, January 16th and Saturday, January 17th from 7 pm to 9 pm.
At 9 pm, fraternity houses will begin the shakeout process, where brothers line up and shake the hands of members expressing their primary interest. From a fraternity perspective, the shakeout process represents a potential member's indication of their top
choice and intention to accept a bid should that fraternity extend him one.
Additionally, Rush is traditionally a formal event with formal attire. Although coat and tie is encouraged, no prejudices will exist towards those potential members not wearing coat and tie.
Finally, intoxication of any kind will not be tolerated. The IFC expects 100% sobriety of current members and potential members while Rush is occurring.
Before rushing a fraternity, all potential members are required to attend a GLOS education session and a DBI training session. If you have not already attended both sessions, please see the GLOS website for schedule details.
Only certain houses will be available on certain dates for rush this weekend. The houses that will be open for rush will be the following:
Friday, January 16th
Chi Gamma Epsilon
Kappa Kappa Kappa
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Sigma Nu
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Zeta Psi
Saturday, January 17th
Alpha Chi Alpha
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Sigma Nu
If you have any additional questions, please direct them toward [log in to unmask] or the IFC Rush Chair, Corbin Stall '15.
Sincerely,
The IFC
