For the past 5 months the Claflin Jewelry Studio has been involved with a project promoting sustainable mining practices, called Radical Jewelry Makeover, imagined by a non-profit called, Ethical Metalsmiths. Dec to March the Hopkins Center collected unwanted jewelry from across the Upper Valley in a process Ethical Metalsmiths calls, "community-mining." We collected 5 large storage bins of jewelry! This jewelry was sorted into materials to be reimagined into new objects by 20 professional artists and about 200 Dartmouth students and community members.

Everything culminates on May 12th with artist talks and a party. Please join us!! It's going to be a lot of fun!!
