Dear members of the Dartmouth community,

Let us have a moment of silence for the 226 souls lost in the South Korean ferry disaster.

On Apr. 16, 2014, a South Korean ferry called Sewol capsized on its way to Jeju island. The boat held 476 passengers, most of whom were high school students going on a field trip. More than two weeks have passed since the tragedy occurred, but the search is still going on to find 76 people still missing.

This tragic accident has hit hundreds of families and friends who have lost their loved ones. No matter what your background is or how you identify yourself, please take a few seconds out of your busy lives and have a moment of silence for our brothers and sisters.
